Sisters of Bon Secours response to COVID-19

Monday, March 16, 2020

Dear Friends,

The Sisters of Bon Secours are committed to providing a welcoming and caring environment in which people can grow stronger in mind, body and spirit. We are also committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our staff and guests. To that end, we have decided to follow the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) just announced on Sunday evening, March 15, and immediately close the Bon Secours Retreat and Conference Center Building. We have postponed all conference group and sponsored retreats until further notice. We want to emphasize that we do not have any cases of COVID-19 at this time. This is a necessary precaution and safety measure that brings us in compliance with the CDC. The CDC guidelines recommend cancelling all events with 50 or more people for the next eight weeks; however, we will be constantly reviewing the situation and make changes as they apply to us. That means the Retreat & Conference Center could reopen sooner—or later than the recommended eight weeks, depending on the spread of the virus in the population.

If you are registered as a group for an upcoming event and have any questions, please contact your sales manager, either Rainey Taylor or Tessa Newton. If you are registered for an upcoming retreat or event, as an individual, please contact our Welcome Center at 410-442-3120 to process your refund or transfer to another retreat/event. Please keep in mind that our staffing is very limited at this time and you may need to leave a voicemail message. Be assured that we will get back to you very soon though. For general retreat program questions, please email Jen Murphy.

We are taking this situation very seriously, knowing the anxiety it creates and the impact it may have on you. We ask for your patience and understanding as we take steps to protect and prevent the spread of this virus. We thank you for your cooperation in helping us to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Please pray with us:

Heavenly Father,

In this time of trial and testing,

Teach all of us to love one another and be patient and kind.

Help us to bring the peace of your son, Jesus, to our land and to our hearts.

We come to you with confidence,

knowing that you are truly our compassionate Savior and cause for our joy.

Shelter us under the mantle of your protection,

keep us in the embrace of your arms, and help us to always know Your love.

Amen.
