Bon Secours’ means ‘good help.’ Who has modeled being ‘good help to those in need’ in your life? Describe why you are inspired by this person.
A model of ‘good help’ in my life is Fr Mike McCue. He used to be pastor of my home parish, and after he left, I went with some others from my parish to visit him at his new assignment of DeSales Service Works in Camden, NJ for a week-long service retreat. We got to beautify the local community, help at the homeless shelter and soup kitchen, attend an AA meeting, and even made dinner with only $1 per person. I was inspired by his known presence, appreciated by so many community members and his dedication to service alongside those in need, and that experience has informed and influenced my own love for service.
For fun, I enjoy playing any sports (I played club Ultimate Frisbee in college) and I love learning card and board games. I also enjoy reading, watching movies with my family and friends, traveling to new places, and being outside.
