Sisters Chat Room

What is life as a sister like? It might be hard to imagine, especially if you’ve never actually talked to a sister. What kind of careers do sisters have? Where do sisters live? Can a sister come from a different religion? Can a sister ever have been married? Are there a lot of rules to follow? How will I know if being a sister is God’s purpose for my life?

If you have ever had questions about religious life, or felt that God might be calling you to become a religious sister, come join our monthly chat room!   It’s led by Sr. Pat Dowling the vocation director for Sisters of Bon Secours, and trust us, she has heard it all!

“The path to religious life isn’t always a straight one,” says Sr. Bernadette Claps, a spiritual director and Sister of Bon Secours. “I had a spiritual director, and we talked about it for a long time,” she says. If you have ever wondered about religious life, our chat room is a great place to ask questions and begin to explore if what you are feeling is God’s calling to become a sister.

“You know, it’s not a snap decision you make,” says Sr. Bernadette. As you seek spiritual guidance and confirmation, it is helpful to talk to religious sisters and learn about their experiences of living out their faith. Joining our chat room is the very first step in a long journey of prayer and deep reflection on where God is leading you.
