Our Sisters fulfill our Bon Secours mission in a wide variety of ways, including all aspects of healthcare, social services, spirituality and education.
The gifts, talents and skills each sister brings, for both ministry and community, are shaped, or infused, by our Congregation’s “Charism” – that special purpose for which the Holy Spirit called Bon Secours into being. For the Sisters of Bon Secours – compassion, healing and liberation lie at the heart of who we are and what we do. Bon Secours Sister Pat Dowling, vocation director notes, “You want to be passionate about your ministry. And, because you spend a major part of a day in ministry, it’s important to use your gifts and skills in a meaningful way that brings glory to God.” She goes on to say, “You will find our sisters using their gifts as physicians, nurses, social workers, community organizers, lobbyists, chaplains, spiritual directors, educators, parish associates, case workers – if you can dream it, and you sense its God’s call, it’s probably possible.”
