Sisters of Bon Secours USA Releases Statement Regarding the Violence in Charlottesville

Sisters of Bon Secours Statement on Racism

As Sisters of Bon Secours committed to a more just and peaceful world we denounce the violence of racism in all its forms. We are deeply troubled by the tragic events that occurred in Charlottesville, VA and the shocking display of white supremacy rhetoric and activities in the aftermath.

We stand in solidarity with the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR), the United States Catholic Bishops, leaders from various faith traditions and all those in our country who condemn the evil of racism and seek to dismantle it through peaceful protest and active nonviolence.

As women of healing who believe that the struggle for a more humane world is not an option we commit ourselves to bring healing to the disease of racism in our own hearts and in our country. We promise to pray for our country and to add our voices and energy to help bring about a more peaceful world.
